Is Chinese astrology compatible with Western astrology?

According to Western astrology, I'm a Libra. According to Chinese astrology, I'm a Snake, and the Snake is equivalent to Taurus. So am I both a Libra AND a snake? I don't get it, any illumination would be nice...
